My background includes…
…a BTEC qualification in business studies and law followed by PA and administrative roles in a variety of sectors. I began my career at British Sugar, providing secretarial and admin support for the sales & marketing manager and a team of account managers. Here I gained lots of useful experience and training, including my first introduction to the world of corporate hospitality and event planning, which I continue to enjoy. Then, when I started a family, I also started my own business, providing virtual PA services to a variety of local clients including Macmillan Cancer Relief. Later I supplemented this by working part-time for another charity, Deafblind UK, as PA to the fundraising director and, latterly, as conference development officer. I gained further experience in the financial services and media fields before joining Wingivers in 2007 to share the office management responsibilities with Clare.
What I’m particularly interested in is…
…the client-contact aspects of the role, plus being able to focus on my own project areas such as corporate hospitality and events. I’ve also really enjoyed being involved in some of Wingivers’ client workshops recently. I feel incredibly lucky to be working with such a nice group of people, and to be able to concentrate on my own areas of interest as well. It’s the ideal balance!
When I’m not working I like to…
…go to live concerts, which I spend far too much money on – everything from Bruce Springsteen and The Eagles to U2 and James Morrison. Naturally I spend a lot of time with my kids – life is as hectic as ever in this respect – but I’m also a bit of a ‘Trinny’ on the quiet, as I really enjoy helping my friends part with their hard-earned cash to refresh their wardrobes!
Something you’d never guess about me is…
… I’m a keen biker chick, and I’m hoping to get myself a new set of wheels soon. I also own a Spanish water dog, of which there are very few in the UK. She’s a dog with dreadlocks, called Marley, and I’m hoping to breed from her later this year.
