My background includes...
...a 2:1 honours degree in politics and French from the Department of European Studies at Loughborough, followed by over twenty years' experience - ranging from manufacturing to HR - with Mars Inc. Latterly I was heavily involved in organisation development, with responsibilities at UK , European and global levels, and I'm now continuing to indulge my passion for OD through my current association with Wingivers.
What I'm particularly interested in is...
...facilitating the development - both individually and collectively - of senior leadership teams to help them achieve new levels of personal performance, identify the key priorities for transforming their business and deliver significantly enhanced results. I always aim to implement sustainable solutions by encouraging clients to develop as learning organisations, capable of changing the way they think and operate. To extend my own skills in this area I've recently acquired a Certificate in Executive Coaching from the Tavistock Institute in London.
When I'm not working I like to...
...involve myself in various types of voluntary activity. I recently organised my local swimming club's first 'licensed meet' in line with all the ASA's rules and regulations, and took it on myself to implement a computer-based statistical reporting system for a national bereavement counselling charity. In one sense this means I'm never 'not working' as, whatever I'm involved with, I can always see the principles that underpin my work on change in action around me! I also love the theatre and live music (everything from classical to the Arctic Monkeys, who happen to come from my home village). My real 'island of reflection' is yoga, which I practice daily.
Something you'd never guess about me is...
...right up to the time I went to university I was a very 'horsey' person, competing on a regular basis at top venues like Hickstead!
